Carrera Announces New 600MHz Workstation
LOS ANGELES, Calif., Aug. 5, 1997 Computers, specialists in developing workstations based on the fastest microprocessors in the world, today announced it will begin shipping the Cobra 600 LX, a solution based on the 600Mhz DEC Alpha microprocessor. Our new 600MHz workstation is part of a total solution we provide for our key markets." Powered by the 21164 Alpha microprocessor, the Cobra 600 LX offers 2MB cache, 64MB-512MB RAM, on board EIDE, optional SCSI, Ultra SCSI, Ethernet, 2D or 3D video, keyboard and mouse. The Cobra 600 LX is upgradeable from 600MHz to 800MHz and is backed by a two-year factory warranty. Depending upon configuration, prices for the new Carrera Cobra 600 LX start at $12,995. Production volume of the new systems is scheduled for Sept., 1997.
